About the role
- Head of Support Functions Oversight at M&G leading non-financial risk management across Group. Overseeing assurance activities and providing input into risk reporting and governance.
Responsibilities
- Lead second line oversight of non‑financial risks across Support Functions
- Lead assurance activity including control testing and assessment of RCSAs
- Assess the implementation and effectiveness of Non‑Financial Risk Management Framework
- Oversee risks arising from significant change and transformation activity
- Provide input into Group and entity risk reporting
- Coordinate Non‑Financial Risk assurance and control‑testing approach
- Support continuous improvement of guidance, training, and processes
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the UK regulatory framework for non‑financial risk management in financial services
- Good knowledge of operational risk and control frameworks
- Understanding of UK Corporate Governance Code Provision 29 expectations
- Knowledge of insurance and asset management beneficial but not essential
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) highly beneficial but not essential
- Risk oversight across different business areas, ideally including Finance
- Providing independent challenge to senior stakeholders on risk and control effectiveness
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels
- Strong analytical judgement
- Confident communicator capable of presenting complex risk issues to senior forums
