About the role
- Summer Student assisting the Legal & Compliance team at Liberty Mutual Canada. Conducting legal research and supporting ongoing projects within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft legal memorandums on various areas of law, including but not limited to insurance and privacy.
- Support the organization’s ongoing projects aimed at improving efficiency and other duties, including preparing internal communications and reports.
- Assist with the development and facilitation of basic legal training programs for business units.
- Provide general support to the Legal & Compliance team.
Requirements
- You are a current student and have completed at least a second year in an accredited J.D. or LL.B. program.
- You have a demonstrated interest in insurance and/or commercial business law.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
- Sound judgement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for learning and taking on new challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work both independently and as part of a team.
