• Lawyer specializing in restructuring and insolvency at Lefosse in São Paulo, Brazil. Involves working on judicial recoveries, audits, and interactions with clients.

Responsibilities

• Insolvency proceedings: work on judicial reorganization (recuperação judicial), extrajudicial restructuring (recuperação extrajudicial) and bankruptcy, developing strategies, drafting procedural filings, participating in creditors' meetings, and monitoring debtors' and other creditors' strategies and actions.
• Debt enforcement: strategic discussions and drafting of procedural pleadings, always aiming to maximize recovery for our clients.
• Audits: review of financial contracts, debt restructurings (including those involving M&A), and litigation related to credit and collateral.
• Debt restructuring: negotiating restructurings inside and outside the judicial environment and drafting and structuring legal instruments (agreements, memoranda of understanding, debt instruments — including capital markets instruments — and security instruments) to document these negotiations.
• General advisory: memoranda on insolvency procedures, credit risks, optimal recovery strategies, stress-scenario assessments and recommended measures, and the creation and validity of guarantees/collateral.
• Litigation: handling disputes for credit recovery and related actions, as well as bankruptcy, judicial reorganization and extrajudicial restructuring proceedings.
• Client interaction: aligning strategies with clients and answering legal questions related to restructuring and insolvency.
• Monitoring: keeping up to date with relevant case law, precedent-setting cases and legislative changes that impact the insolvency and credit recovery sector.
• Knowledge sharing: drafting articles, bulletins and presentations on relevant legal topics in the practice area.

Requirements

• Law degree completed between 07/2022 and 12/2019.
• Active registration with the OAB — São Paulo (Brazilian Bar Association).
• Advanced/Fluent English.
• Experience in restructuring and insolvency litigation, including enforcement proceedings for credit recovery and related actions, as well as bankruptcy, judicial reorganization and extrajudicial restructuring cases.
• Excellent legal drafting skills for procedural filings and legal opinions.
