About the role
- Applications Support Engineer managing Cobol and Informix 4 GL applications in a dynamic environment. Involves development, support, and modernization of critical business applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop solutions, Support and maintain applications built on Micro Focus Cobol and Informix 4 GL.
- Analyse and modify existing COBOL / Inforix 4GL programs to meet new business requirements, regulatory changes, and performance goals.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level production support for critical business applications, performing root cause analysis, and implementing timely fixes.
- Develop and maintain interfaces to integrate COBOL/Informix 4GL applications with modern programming languages and third-party systems.
- Participate in projects to re-host or re-platform legacy mainframe workloads to distributed or cloud environments.
Requirements
- Expert proficiency in Cobol & Informix 4GL programming language
- Strong hands on experience in applications support and enhancements
- Proficiency with database technologies such as Informed and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries
