About the role

  • Global Segment Director leading development and execution of marketing for Steel Ropes. Aligning with global strategies and representing the business to customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the long-term strategy, commercial alignment, and marketing execution for the Steel Ropes business, ensuring alignment with global Bekaert strategy, while serving as the key representative to customers and stakeholders across the ecosystem
  • Ensure the preparation and implementation of the business strategy and its implementation roadmap for the products & markets concerned
  • Strive to achieve the objectives in terms of market share, revenue and long-term profit generation
  • Determine and monitor the global pricing strategy and propose adjustments when necessary
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the market (market intelligence) by screening competitors, key customers and following up on trends and developments in the market
  • Contribute to the BBRG strategy formulation at global level
  • Along with the regional teams, R&D and technology, prepare business cases to introduce new products into the market
  • Develop marketing and communication plans for the promotion of existing new products
  • Help to define the best ‘route to market ‘including digital channels

Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field with minimum 10 years of professional commercial experience in a B2B environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities within a global, matrixed organization
  • Proven P&L management and strong financial acumen, including cost management
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging senior-level stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans
  • Proven ability to engage, inspire, and empower teams and organizational leadership
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to anticipate, identify, and meet customer needs
  • Experience working effectively in cross-functional environments
  • Demonstrated experience in talent development, coaching, and mentoring
  • Data-driven decision-making capabilities with strong analytical skills
  • In-depth industry knowledge of the steel ropes business would be preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
