About the role
- Junior Finance Executive supporting internal finance operations for a growing boutique accounting firm in Malta. Performing bookkeeping, reconciliations, and assisting with VAT compliance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Handle daily bookkeeping and ensure timely and accurate financial entries
- Perform bank and other reconciliations to maintain accurate records
- Manage accounts receivable by following up with clients and maintaining professional communication
- Record supplier invoices and perform supplier statement reconciliations
- Assist with VAT-related calculations, data gathering, and compliance tasks
- Monitor the finance inbox and address internal employee queries promptly
- Support month-end closing activities up to the Trial Balance stage
- Assist in various ad-hoc finance tasks and internal projects as needed
Requirements
- A Level in Accounts or currently pursuing ACCA studies
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in Malta
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic VAT principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using accounting software will be considered an asset
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
