About the role
- Network Engineer supporting modern network and security infrastructure in a professional IT environment. Collaborating with experienced colleagues to solve network issues and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- You will support the operation, maintenance and further development of modern enterprise networks.
- You will analyze network incidents and performance issues and assist in their resolution.
- You will accompany change implementations and support technical optimizations.
- You will work with LAN, WAN and data center network environments.
- You will document technical analyses, changes and solutions in a structured and traceable manner.
- You will work closely with infrastructure, security and operations teams.
Requirements
- Solid fundamentals in TCP/IP and basic packet flow analysis
- Knowledge of routing technologies, specifically static/default routing and BGP / MP-BGP
- Experience with network access control, e.g. ACLs and NAT
- Strong knowledge of Layer-2 technologies such as STP, VLANs, trunking, EtherChannel and HSRP
- Experience with IPsec VPNs, both policy-based and route-based, including troubleshooting
- Knowledge of VRF, VPNv4 and MPLS VPN
- Structured approach to troubleshooting, for example with latency issues, CRC errors or interface degradations
- Experience with Cisco or Arista network devices
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
- Willingness to undergo security screening according to German regulations (SÜ2)
