Management Accountant in South Africa finance team, responsible for management reporting and performance analysis. Hybrid role requiring office presence 2–3 days a week in Cape Town.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
Conduct variance analysis and monitor departmental spend.
Assist with month-end close processes and reconciliation activities.
Provide commentary and actionable insights to the Finance Manager and key stakeholders.
Support and coach junior finance team members.
Oversee the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable processes.
Reconcile customer receipts and supplier payments.
Monitor cash positions and contribute to short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
Support payment runs and bank reconciliations.
Liaise with internal departments and global teams on finance matters.
Recommend and implement process enhancements, automation, and best practices.
Support the integration of finance tools and systems.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and audit standards.
Requirements
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent).
2–4 years' experience in a management accounting or financial role.
Strong understanding of core finance functions, including AP, AR, and cash flow.
Proficient in Excel and accounting systems such as Xero, NetSuite, or similar.
Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity or international environment is highly advantageous.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
1. **Hybrid working**: 2–3 days per week in our **Cape Town** office.
2. **Working Hours: **This role follows **UK working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (GMT/BST)**.
