Engineer Systems Test synthesizing customer contractual needs into test solutions at Newport News Shipbuilding. Developing and executing test plans, procedures, and schedules for systems testing.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of the Metric and Assessment Report for both CVN79/80 and CVN74.
Act as Quality Team leader in support of our quality program and increase visibility of failure metrics from both a Test and Work Control perspective. Lead lessons learned initiatives.
Lead development of the Department Self-Assessment Report.
Serve as Program Quality Scorecard lead representative for E25.
Serve as ITPAM Quality lead for E25 in support of CVN programs. This includes lifecycle process/procedure ownership, audit support and the deckplate surveillance program.
Take lead in E25 administrative process/procedure development and maintenance. Ensure that procedures are updated to suit IDS initiatives across all programs. Develop new process procedures where necessary. Manage Command Media conversions of legacy procedures.
Assist in facilitating Test related IDS initiatives.
Serve as liaison for future dept audits
Requirements
An ABET Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master’s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience;
Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
Extensive understanding of Test Department processes and procedures, and cross construction program experience is desired.
