About the role
- Cybersecurity Specialist supporting Department of Defense initiatives in IT operations and cybersecurity governance. Responsibilities include security assessments and compliance in complex operational environments.
Responsibilities
- Gather and organize technical and mission requirements for security design
- Support secure system configuration and validation activities
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk analysis
- Test security products and systems to identify weaknesses
- Support audits to ensure compliance with security plans and policies
- Assist with firewall configuration, network security analysis, and cloud security implementation
- Contribute to continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery planning
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
- 4–8 years of cybersecurity experience
- Experience with system/network security, risk assessments, and security policy implementation
- One of the following for the Advanced Roles: CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, CISM, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, GSLC or any equivalent certifications
- Intermediate Role: Security+, SSCP, CC, GMON, CASP+ (Security X), CCISO, CCSP, CGRC/CAP, Cloup +, GCSA, GSEC, CISSO or any equivalent certifications
