Responsibilities
Use underwriting information and internal resources to support underwriting decisions.
Assist in file and policy preparation.
Assist in audit preparation.
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Mission’s underwriting guidelines.
Prepare and process policies and endorsements for issuance in accordance with binders and Underwriters instructions.
Code premium in accordance with division guidelines.
Assist in the review of new and renewal submissions.
Request and review incoming Broker of Record letters.
Request documentation from the broker for rating, quoting, binding, and policy issuance.
Review policy information for accurate processing.
Assist in the review of guidelines and SOPs.
Work with management to mentor Junior underwriting assistants.
Requirements
Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
5-10 years minimum directly supporting commercial lines underwriters.
Bachelor's degree; OR 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting.
Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Project management software – like Monday.com
Familiarity with Policy Administration software – Origami, Federado
