About the role
- Associate Medical Director providing medical/scientific expertise in safety evaluation and risk management of GSK assets. Ensuring patient safety while collaborating across teams in clinical development and post-marketing settings.
Responsibilities
- Provides medical/scientific expertise in the safety evaluation and risk management of key GSK assets in clinical development and/or the post-marketing setting
- Ensures scientifically sound review and interpretation of data and management of safety issues and escalates safety issues identified through the safety review process to senior management and safety governance as appropriate
- Makes recommendations for further characterizing, managing, and communicating safety risks
- Support pharmacovigilance and benefit-risk management of assigned portfolio of GSK global assets to ensure Patient Safety globally
- Build strong collaborative relationships and demonstrates good matrix leadership skills, proactively providing input to matrix teams on safety issues and processes
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (MD, DO or MBBS)
- Demonstrate ability to apply medical and scientific knowledge to evaluate and interpret safety information
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to review, interpret scientific/medical literature and make sound medical judgments based on available clinical and scientific data
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrate ability to learn quickly, adapt to a new process, and/or develop expertise in pharmacovigilance practices and safety regulations
