About the role
- Senior Electrical Engineer driving design and delivery of small to mid-scale power infrastructure projects. Act as technical authority on Battery Energy Storage Systems and HVO generator rollouts.
Responsibilities
- Drive BESS, HVO generator, and transformer upgrades from initial site feasibility and supplier assessment through to grid connection, commissioning, and final handover.
- Produce robust AC/DC designs, cable schedules, and tender documents.
- Act as the definitive technical voice from the feasibility stage with the customer to on-site during commissioning.
- Conduct site feasibility surveys, manage external consultants through the design phases, and lead Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) investigations on equipment failures.
- Develop complete project tender packages, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), while actively managing project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Requirements
- 5 to 7+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer within the power generation, renewables or utilities industry.
- An Electrical Craft Certificate is advantageous but not essential.
- Deep, practical knowledge of generator systems, BESS integrations, medium-voltage installations, and earthing.
- Highly capable of reading, understanding, and producing complex electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
- A self-starter capable of managing projects independently across diverse locations in Ireland and the UK.
- A valid full driving license is required.
