About the role
- Senior Software Engineer specializing in SAP development for General Motors. Leading SAP projects and providing technical guidance in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of SAP solutions, including enhancements, customizations, and integrations using SAP BTP, ABAP, SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and other SAP technologies (CAP, HANA Cloud etc.)
- Participate in the full lifecycle of SAP projects, from requirement gathering and analysis to go-live and post-implementation support.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Work closely with functional teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for SAP systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent experience.
- Several years of hands-on SAP experience including extensive experience developing and enhancing solutions developed in RICEFW, RAP & OData.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SAP BTP implementation for application development, automation, and data & analytics.
- Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, including RESTful programming, CDS, modern extensibility, etc.
- Strong experience with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, and OData services.
- Knowledge of SAP modules such as SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, or others.
- Knowledge of BTP tools/services like SAP Build Work Zone, Business Application Studio, and GIT.
- Experience developing cloud-based applications on the SAP BTP platform.
- Experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments with S/4HANA upgrades and ECC to S/4HANA upgrades with code remediation.
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform, RISE, and SAP integration technologies (IDocs, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST).
