About the role
- Network Solutions Engineer supporting client implementations at GigaKOM in the San Diego Area. Combining remote flexibility with on-site client support and technical consulting responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Implement & Deploy Network Solutions: Install, configure, and support enterprise switching, routing, wireless, and security solutions. Perform system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure rollouts. Execute implementation plans aligned with approved designs. Ensure solutions are deployed according to manufacturer best practices.
- Pre-Sales Engineering & Technical Consulting: Participate in client discovery sessions with Account Executives. Validate technical requirements and recommend appropriate architectures. Assist with bill of materials (BOM) development and configuration review. Provide technical input for proposals, RFP responses, and solution documentation. Deliver technical presentations and whiteboard sessions.
- Proof of Concept & Solution Validation: Design and execute PoC and pilot deployments. Validate solution performance, scalability, and security. Troubleshoot and refine configurations prior to full deployment. Provide post-PoC recommendations and optimization guidance.
- Field Services & Client Support: Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting. Conduct site assessments and infrastructure evaluations. Maintain strong client relationships during and after implementation. Deliver knowledge transfer and post-deployment support.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain accurate technical documentation. Provide feedback to sales and engineering teams based on field experience. Stay current on product updates, certifications, and best practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in networking or infrastructure engineering
- Experience supporting enterprise-level deployments
- Strong hands-on experience with switching, routing, wireless, and network security
- Experience supporting pre-sales or client-facing technical engagements
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Preferred Experience: Experience supporting California SLED or K–12 clients, Hands-on experience with Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Extreme Networks, Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Aruba, or equivalent), Participation in RFP processes and competitive solution positioning
