About the role
- Warranty Finance Manager focusing on warranty accounting, budgeting, and forecasting at Ford. Collaborating across departments to drive warranty cost improvements and provide financial guidance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to warranty Rules of the Road, accounting guidelines and internal controls governing warranty reserves and expenses
- Develop annual business plans and budgets, and monthly forecasts ensuring operational alignment and buy-in to warranty projections and forecasts, while driving operational warranty cost improvements
- Manage monthly and quarterly warranty close processes and quarterly external benchmarking analysis
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and success of warranty financials
- Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders in our quality organization, FCSD, finance teams, global data and analytics, and other business units
- Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex technical warranty accounting concepts into clear, impactful insights for audiences with varying levels of warranty accounting knowledge.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, highly engaged team of warranty finance professionals, fostering a culture of strong controls, continuous improvement, innovation, and agility
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, or operations, with strong analytical skills and business acumen.
- 5 years of experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent advanced degree.
- Proven experience working closely with executive leadership, demonstrating exceptional executive-level stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Superior presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and make compelling recommendations to all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with digital finance technologies, including AI, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), advanced analytics, and modern ERP systems
- Understanding of financial regulatory compliance standards pertaining to warranty such as SOX, IFRS, and GAAP.
- Ability to multi-task, change priorities quickly, manage competing deadlines, and thrive in an evolving environment
