About the role

  • Graduate Pricing Analyst joining the Underwriting team at 1st Central, a market-leading insurance company utilizing smart data and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Write efficient, well documented code to create modelling datasets
  • Produce regular reporting and ad hoc analysis using Python, SAS, SQL, Excel or other software packages
  • Create an innovative approach by introducing new analytical and visualization methods using Power BI
  • Produce monthly reports using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Assess new data sources from third parties to derive features that are predictive of claims experience
  • Monitor, maintain, update and proactively identify ways to improve existing predictive models using Python, Emblem, Radar and other software packages
  • Collaborate with other pricing teams to establish best pricing and modelling practices
  • Support the rate changing process (analysis, proposal, and implementation)

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or closely related discipline
  • Strong foundation in Mathematics, evidenced by an A grade at A-Level (or equivalent overseas qualification)
  • Hands-on coding experience, with proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, R or SQL is an advantage
  • Understanding of statistical modelling using GBMs/GLMs
  • Understanding of data science concepts and tools would be advantages
  • Intermediate IT skills
  • Use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
