Lead the Great Britain Prompt Trading team at ESB, focusing on optimizing trading positions and delivering financial targets in electricity and gas markets.
Responsibilities
Ensure the Trading team acts in a proactive manner in power and gas markets to continually seek to optimise trading positions in the prompt electricity markets.
Maintain and develop prompt trading systems and processes to ensure that all prompt traded positions are optimised, and that and regulatory risk is managed in a robust manner.
Manage Regulatory compliance and incident reporting across the trading team.
Engage positively with counterparties both external and internal to foster collaborative relationships.
Proactively support and develop the capabilities of the team.
Engaging with the wider Generation and Trading team to ensure that potential new investment opportunities are properly assessed from Prompt perspective.
Lead, support, and champion the values and cultural attributes of ESB through open communication, team-working and innovation.
Requirements
Extensive experience/knowledge of Electricity and Gas markets and associated commodity markets.
Proven commercial acumen skills.
Proven stakeholder management skills at peer level and senior levels of the business and ability to deliver change.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking ownership of work / projects and motivating team members to deliver team objectives or projects.
A strong numeric and analytical background with attention to detail.
3rd level qualification in suitable Business, Science or Engineering degree or equivalent work experience is required.
