Senior Structural Engineer designing and overseeing structural components for various building projects. Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in Toronto.
Responsibilities
Structural engineering design and calculations for all structural components including columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and lateral systems.
Design and engineering using materials such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, cold formed structural steel, and wood.
Assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
Draft project-related correspondence.
Lead internal project design teams, including delegating appropriate design tasks and overseeing the technical production of design engineers.
Participate in client meetings, facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates.
Review of architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
Mentoring and coaching of junior staff to help cultivate their professional development.
Develop and monitor project budgets.

Requirements
An engineering degree with a focus on structural engineering
8+ years of structural engineering experience in the design and construction of buildings/structures
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) licensure
Strong technical judgment and advanced problem-solving ability
Knowledge of the appropriate building codes and standards (OBC/NBCC, CSA A23.3, CSA S16, etc.)
Strong project management capability with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget
Working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, etc.)
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
