About the role
- Senior Structural Engineer leading the structural analysis and design of various civil structures in the Philippines. Overseeing project delivery, compliance, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural analysis and design of bridges, viaducts, retaining structures, and other civil structures
- Perform detailed calculations for superstructures, substructures, foundations, seismic and wind loading, and load ratings
- Prepare and review technical design reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Apply relevant design standards (e.g., AASHTO, Eurocode, DPWH, other local codes)
- Manage and deliver multiple bridge design tasks within scope, budget, and schedule
- Coordinate with geotechnical, roadway, drainage, utilities, and construction teams
- Support project managers in scope development, risk assessments, and project planning
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures for design deliverables
- Ensure all designs meet safety requirements, regulatory approvals, and industry best practices
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and project staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Licensed/registered Civil Engineer
- 8+ years of experience in bridge or structural engineering design
- Strong proficiency in structural software (e.g., MIDAS, STAAD)
- Solid understanding of geotechnical principles, materials engineering, and construction methods
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and coordination skills
