Junior Network Design Engineer designing complex data center networks using software-defined and cloud architectures. Collaborating with teams to ensure reliable networking solutions.
Responsibilities
Engineer complex data center network solutions using software-defined network architecture and cloud architecture.
Design, build, and operate large enterprise data center networks, including hybrid data center environments and public cloud.
Work closely with the Senior Manager, Network Design Services, and other teams to ensure networking solutions meet business needs.
Research existing and new technologies for consideration in our environment, including lab testing when needed.
Maintain a strong understanding of data center switching and the interaction with virtual and cloud network environment.
Simplify complex ideas/issues and present recommendations to senior management when required.
Participate in vendor solution testing and selection and in data center-related projects that require networking input/solutions.
Provide 4th level support to Operations for escalating issues and drive these to resolution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related area.
At least 10 years of experience working in a global environment, dealing with multiple time zones.
At least 3 years of experience in the design, implementation, and operation of WAN/LAN/Data Center networks.
At least 3 years of experience working with load balancing, DDI services, and switching/routing.
Experience with Software Defined Network Architectures, ideally Big Switch (now Arista) Big Cloud Foundation (CCF) or Cisco ACI.
Knowledge of networking and security in a data center environment, particularly with Cisco Networking, Arista CCF, Palo Alto, Infoblox, and F5 including micro segmentation.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
