Responsibilities
- Completing a variety of routine and non-routine legal assignments
- Working autonomously with regular collaboration and reporting to management
- Representing the organization in legal duties
- Researching legal principles and precedents
- Consulting with outside counsel
- Drafting and executing legal documents
- Gathering relevant case-related information
- Contributing to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department
- Serving as a strategic partner with assigned internal clients
- Providing legal solutions to a wide range of difficult or new problems
- Developing recommendations and solutions consistent with organizational objectives
- Supporting the development of other attorneys and paralegals by providing guidance on technical and tactical procedures
- Managing outside counsel on routine matters
- Assessing and mitigating risk for familiar situations
- Reporting to management on any identified business exposure and associated risks
Requirements
- Requires a JD
- current license to practice law
- minimum of 6 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure
- Experience with PBM contracts, healthcare services agreements, or large-scale enterprise client contracts
- Experience advising on regulatory and compliance considerations impacting client contracts
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Solid negotiation skills against experienced opposing counsel and consultants
- Effectively communicates risk and recommendations to senior and executive leadership
- Aligns legal advice with enterprise goals and long-term business strategy
- Maintains composure and sound decision-making under pressure and tight timelines.
