- Behavioral Health Care Manager II managing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for commercial employer population. Requires MA/MS and clinical licensure in California for in-person and remote responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage psychiatric and substance abuse disorder treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review
- Assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare
- Refer cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate
- Perform psychiatric and substance abuse assessment coordination and case planning
- Serve as a resource to other BH Care Managers
- Assist with complex cases and participate in inter-and intradepartmental teams
Requirements
- Requires MA/MS in social work, counseling or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse disorder treatment
- Current active unrestricted license in California (e.g. RN, LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT or Clinical Psychologist)
- Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases required
- Prior managed care experience required
