About the role
- Senior Database Developer developing solutions for US Government-funded project to modernize HR processes. Working with Oracle and SQL technologies in a remote setup based in Europe.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable software in line with technical requirements, focusing on performance and availability
- Analyze requirements, review designs, and estimate user stories following project methodology (Agile, Waterfall, etc)
- Proactively propose code refactoring and optimization improvements according to the best software development practices and coding standards
- Help maintain and improve high-quality standards within the developer community by sharing knowledge, conducting tech talks, and participating in the internal promotion verification process
- Stay up-to-date with modern technology and obtain professional certifications
- Support less experienced developers by providing training, distributing, and monitoring tasks
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role or responsibilities
- Deep knowledge of MS SQL
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle
- A balance of technical knowledge, problem-solving, report development, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented, including a focus on all aspects of report accuracy (numbers, calculations, presentation, etc.)
- Understanding of information delivery architecture, including the creation of abstraction layers, SQL query paths, and optimization, report-level calculations, and end-user reporting architecture
- Must possess strong initiative and self-motivation, an inquisitive mind, and willingness to learn, ability to digest feedback and turn it into action
- At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English
