Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the SVP, Industry Operations (SVP), the Managing Director, Security and Resilience (MD), serves as a senior member of EEIs Industry Operations division and is responsible for leading a broad range of activities central to the security and resilience of the electric power system.
The MD provides leadership to advance the strategic and operational interests of EEIs members in the areas of energy security, grid resilience, and military partnerships.
The MD will oversee a team of policy and subject matter experts and is responsible for informing the organizations operational positions and supporting member priorities through robust analysis and research.
Other important responsibilities of the MD: Oversee a team of subject matter experts responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and influencing a variety of regulatory and operational issues affecting the electric power industry, including cyber and physical security, supply chain security, and other emerging grid security and resilience issues.
Provide expertise on a range of national security issues and oversee critical member-centric workstreams, including EEIs Security and Resilience Executive Advisory Committee and Security Working Group.
Proactively engage in resilience activities with DOE, CISA, and other organizations.
Inform the development of member positions on key issues in collaboration with EEIs government relations, communications, and legal and policy teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with federal agencies and other key stakeholders to advance EEIs member priorities.
Oversee a high-performing team of subject-matter experts, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and excellence.
Support positive working relationships across the three Industry Operations pillars, and with other EEI divisions, particularly Government Relations, Communications, and Legal and Policy teams, to align operational positions and research with advocacy and messaging.
In coordination with the SVP, oversee employee performance management and conduct performance reviews in a timely manner.
Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
15+ years of relevant experience in critical infrastructure security, with a focus on energy security, national security, and cyber security.
Demonstrated expertise in federal and other regulatory processes affecting the electric utility industry.
Exceptional judgment, integrity, and discretion in managing sensitive and high-impact matters.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences, including member executives, policymakers, and regulators.
Strong leadership and team management experience, including mentoring and developing professionals.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Willingness to travel up to 20% for EEI member events, meetings, and conferences.
