Team Lead for VAT Compliance in a hybrid role overseeing compliance teams and processes. Leading operational standards and addressing VAT regulatory requirements in an international environment.
Responsibilities
You lead teams through complex tax and compliance topics, make well-founded decisions, and maintain an overview even in dynamic situations
You assume both technical and disciplinary leadership of our 3-person VAT Compliance team and ensure that our tax-relevant processes, data and standards meet the highest quality and compliance requirements
You manage a team of VAT master data specialists and a Data Analyst — both technically and disciplinarily
You make informed decisions in escalation situations and independently prioritize requirements
You provide regular status updates to Management, Product and Legal (bi-weekly and during weekly Product Owner meetings)
You work closely with the VP Product and the Technical Product Owner
You participate in product development meetings and contribute the compliance perspective — without driving development yourself
You ensure that regulatory changes in the VAT area are identified and implemented in a timely manner
You optimize processes related to data quality, documentation and compliance standards
Requirements
Solid understanding of VAT and regulatory requirements — e.g., through experience in tax consulting, auditing, corporate tax, compliance, operations or process management
A completed degree (e.g., Business Administration, Law, Economics) is an advantage but not mandatory
Several years of experience in technical and disciplinary leadership of teams (2–5 people)
Demonstrated success in leading projects or operational areas with cross-functional interfaces
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, including under time pressure and when engaging with management levels
Excellent communication skills — you can explain complex matters clearly and understandably
Very good German and English skills (both at least C1)
