About the role
- Managing SAP license inventory and advising IT areas on SAP licensing and cost optimization. Collaborating to improve software asset management processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage SAP license inventory, ensuring proper measurement, license assignment, and orchestrating license repurchase/purchase activities
- Advise SAP-using IT areas/products, primarily on selecting appropriate licensing, optimizing license costs and inventory, and defining requirements for new SAP contracts
- Support the Service Manager in planning, managing, and allocating SAP maintenance fees (chargeback to responsible cost centers)
- Operate and further develop the Software Asset Management (SAM) tool and automate workflows and reports to improve efficiency
- Advise internal stakeholders on Software Asset Management and support license inventories and audits
- Analyze license usage and identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities across various IT applications
Requirements
- Completed university degree, 2-year technical college qualification, or equivalent qualification acquired by other means
- Practical experience with measurement using LAW (License Administration Workbench), SAP licensing metrics, and contractual terms
- Solid knowledge of Software Asset Management processes, ideally with experience in implementing, operating, and enhancing SAM tools
- Ability to analyze license usage and identify potential cost savings
- Experience automating workflows and reports, e.g., with Power Automate, scripting, or comparable tools
- Analytical skills combined with a conscientious and results-oriented work style
- Collaborative team player who works on an equal footing
