About the role

• Senior Legal Counsel focusing on B2B commercial agreements and legal matters for DeepL. Collaborating with teams globally to drive legal processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex B2B commercial agreements, including SaaS, MSA, DPAs.
• Work on public sector and agentic AI (DeepL Agent) matters.
• Provide the GtM team with experienced advice on a wide variety of complex commercial legal matters.
• Support the improvement of internal processes within the GtM organisation.
• Develop and maintain the templates of the GtM Legal team.
• Draft and conduct training and self-help materials and guidelines for both the GtM and the GtM Legal team as well as other key stakeholders in the organization worldwide.

Requirements

• You are a fully qualified UK or German counsel or comparable with at least seven years of experience working in internal legal departments.
• You understand the challenges of a fast-growing company.
• You have experience in reviewing and negotiating B2B contracts and SaaS contracts as well as negotiating them confidently.
• You possess good knowledge of UK and German law, preferably also experience with contracts under US or Japanese law.
• You have excellent communication skills with different target groups (especially GtM team) and hierarchical levels.
• You are able to prioritize and organize your workload according to risks and company requirements in time-sensitive matters.
• You are willing to work in a highly demanding, fast-changing and fast-paced environment.
