About the role
- Insurance Counselor providing education and guidance on health insurance to patients at DaVita clinics. Focusing on Medicare options and resolving patient issues with insurance.
Responsibilities
- Travel to DaVita clinics in Houston, Texas and other surrounding areas to provide education and guidance to patients about health insurance
- Act as a liaison between patients, facility teammates, billing office and the corporate office to resolve patient insurance issues and/or concerns
- Assist Medicare patients with understanding their Chronic Special Needs Plan, Medicare, and Medicare Advantage options
- Manage and update tracking tools as appropriate
- Provide monthly reporting and analysis on key metrics related to patient education and advocacy
Requirements
- Candidate must reside in Houston, or the surrounding area
- Valid driver’s license within the state you are applying is required, with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to squat and walk and stand for more than 15 minutes and must be okay with the sight of blood.
- Proactively build relationships with patients
- Provide high-level of customer service to ensure patient questions or issues are addressed effectively
- Experience in Insurance Counseling, knowledge of Medicare, and Medicare Advantage options
