Responsibilities
The Applications Engineer role is cross-functional and provides an essential link between our corporate resources, services, sales, and clients by assisting with specific customer requests.
Application Engineers work with project team members to optimize customer control systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to work through complex technical items, keeping internal and external groups aware of new product and site configuration information, project sales support, and selling our Daktronics control system products & services.
This role will require you to work directly with clients and quickly identify their core application needs, while understanding how those needs correlate to Daktronics' products and offerings.
Support both the internal & external sales and engineering teams by providing technical guidance, application/integration support, and product feasibility input.
Present technical writing, including system descriptions, applications notes, and customer-facing renderings/documentation,
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree. Preferred majors include electronic engineering technology, computer engineering technology, technical management, or a technical or business field.
Prefer experience with control system operation, system integration, and programmatic scheduling.
Strong Communication skills including verbal and written skills, interpersonal, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services.
Experience selling product values and features.
Must demonstrate ability to successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Motivated and a team-player.
Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement.
Goal-oriented with proven leadership capability.
Knowledge of Daktronics products, hardware, and software used in various markets is beneficial.
Will need to be accessible after regular business hours, which may include multiple time zones for meetings.
Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements.
