About the role

• Mobile Software Engineer building and maintaining iOS and Android applications for Custom Surgical's healthcare products. Engaging in performance-critical mobile software in clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native mobile applications for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin);
• Work closely with device hardware, including camera pipelines and low-level APIs;
• Implement efficient image and video capture, processing, and storage routines;
• Integrate and manage FFmpeg or similar multimedia pipelines;
• Ensure high performance, stability, and reliability in production environments;
• Collaborate with backend, cloud, and hardware teams on end-to-end solutions;
• Improve existing codebases with a focus on maintainability and performance;
• Contribute to technical decisions regarding mobile architecture and tooling.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in native mobile development;
• Strong expertise in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android);
• Solid understanding of mobile app architecture and lifecycle;
• Experience with camera APIs, media pipelines, or hardware-level features;
• Experience handling large files and mass storage, both local and network-based;
• Familiarity with multimedia tools such as FFmpeg or similar;
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and clean coding practices;
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
