About the role
- Accountant responsible for monthly and yearly financial statements at a global trading company in Munich. Collaborate with auditors and tax advisors while optimizing finance processes.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors and external consultants
- Handle accrual postings (receivables, provisions, prepaid and deferred items, etc.)
- Support tax authority audits
- Preparation of VAT pre‑returns
- Reconciliation of general ledger and subledgers
- Optimization of processes and workflows in the finance area
- Participation in projects for process design, including ERP system development
- Contribution to the development of policies and support for their implementation
- Close cooperation with management and external advisors (e.g., auditors, tax auditors)
Requirements
- Commercial vocational training or degree in economics/business administration
- Relevant further qualifications welcome (e.g., Certified Balance Sheet Accountant [IHK], Tax Specialist), but not mandatory
- Relevant professional experience in accounting
- Preferably experience in the described areas of responsibility
- Experience with an ERP system
- Team player with an independent working style
