About the role
- Senior Accountant managing monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles at Boeing. Responsible for financial records quality and collaborates with business partners.
Responsibilities
- Oversees and reviews the work of teammates (including external service providers)
- Assists in skill development of external service providers
- Collaborates and develops business relationships with internal business partners
- Prepares and/or reviews journal entries, supporting schedules, financial analyses and reconciliations primarily related to transactions with commercial suppliers
- Ensures accurate recording of supplier non-recurring settlements, supplier advance payments and loans, raw material purchases, sales and allocations and accounting for the purchase and use of aviation fuel
- Ensures timely completion of closing requirements to meet reporting deadlines
- Analyzes and reviews contract settlements to determine appropriate accounting outcome
- Supports internal and external auditors
- Leads development of team and assists in process improvement initiatives and various ad hoc projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or SEC reporting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
- Experience in public accounting
- Industry experience with a public company
- Experience with US accounting principles
- Experience in multi-tasking and managing to shift priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail
- Experience of working both independently and in a team environment
- Experience with ambiguous and complex projects
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Peoplesoft, Cognos, SAP and ERP
