About the role
- Regulatory & Compliance Lead responsible for compliance with Brazilian regulations at Clara. Supporting teams across the company to ensure regulatory adherence and manage relationships with authorities.
Responsibilities
- Act as Clara’s statutory compliance officer (diretor(a) estatutário(a)) in Brazil
- Ensure Clara’s alignment with Bacen, COAF, and local AML/KYC regulations
- Lead regulatory assessments and manage relationships with local authorities
- Oversee key compliance filings
- Provide strategic support across teams including Fraud, Sales, Customer Support, Product, and Risk
Requirements
- Proven experience in regulatory compliance, with a focus on AML, KYC, and financial governance
- Eligibility and readiness to serve as diretor(a) estatutário(a) before Bacen
- Strong knowledge of Bacen systems and frameworks (including Siscom)
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and internal governance standards
- Demonstrated ability to assess high-risk clients and approve onboarding decisions from a compliance lens
- Experience coordinating audits and formalizing institutional risks
- Working proficiency in Portuguese and English
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
