About the role
- Tech Lead / Developer Back End integrating a data product for an entertainment client. Leading team efforts in performance, architecture, and coding best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team technically on initiatives related to platform performance, resilience, and evolution.
- Define and review the architecture of low-latency, high-scale services.
- Work closely with other teams on routing, caching, CDN, and security strategies.
- Ensure best practices for code, testing, observability, and production operations.
Requirements
- Strong experience in backend application development.
- Experience designing and architecting distributed, scalable systems.
- Solid foundation in software engineering (SOLID principles, best practices, design patterns).
- Strong knowledge of computer networking and high-scale systems (latency, throughput, contention, network congestion, etc.).
- Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, New Relic, Datadog).
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Experience with agile methodologies.
- Nice to have / differentiators:
- Experience with Go.
- Experience with web servers / reverse proxies (e.g., Nginx, Apache).
- Experience operating or using CDNs, understanding their advantages, limitations and security requirements (WAF, authentication tokens, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lua or other embedded scripting languages.
- Familiarity with debugging and optimization tools for embedded systems.
- Knowledge of Unix and operating systems (terminal, sysctl, perf, top/htop, concepts of user space vs. kernel space, interrupts, etc.).
