About the role
- Proposal Engineer responsible for reviewing applications, estimating labor, and generating quotes for large projects. Collaborating with team members to deliver proposals to customers on time.
Responsibilities
- Review each assigned application and RFP for large equipment/integration projects.
- Propose the appropriate equipment and generate quotes to meet customer’s specifications.
- Work with vendors and request quotes for applicable materials.
- Estimate in-house labor and onsite services and compile these into quote format.
- Collaborate with other PE’s, proposal administrator and the Inside Sales Manager to complete quotes and proposal packages thoroughly and submit to customers on time.
Requirements
- Engineering or technical background and experience, degree preferred.
- Experience as applications engineer (or similar), reviewing customer documents for technical specifications and scope.
- Experience completing complex quotations.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to learn company products, services and culture and incorporate these into work performed and quotes prepared.
- Excellent organization skills, prioritizing tasks, pro-active.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with subordinates, peers, managers, customers and vendors.
- Excellent computer literacy and skills including MS Excel, Word and Outlook and use of databases.
