About the role
- Plant Depot Operations Manager responsible for daily operations, safety, and compliance of Plant & Equipment depots. Leading Specialist Plant, Equipment, and Mobile teams in ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Support the BUGM in managing the daily operations of the Plant & Equipment Depot(s)
- Ensure operational excellence, safety and quality across all delivery commitments
- Oversee and manage delivery, safety, quality and performance of the Specialist Plant, Equipment and Mobile teams
- Ensure compliance and accurate recording of all maintenance for the Specialist Plant & Equipment teams
- Be accountable for the safety performance, driving a positive safety culture
- Support and guide teams to ensure timely and safe deliveries
- Embed a flexible culture to embrace change and drive continuous improvement
- Maximise internal stock utilisation and reduce external hire needs
- Explore new technology and products for safety enhancements and zero emissions
- Prepare proposals for asset management and capital expenditures
- Maintain excellent levels of communication across the team and the wider business
- Ensure adherence to SHEQ policies and procedures
- Undertake any other duties to meet business demands
Requirements
- 5yrs+ proven experience within the Transmission Over Head Line (TOHL) Industry
- 5yrs+ operating at a Senior Manager / Department Manager level
- Proven experience in a similar role within a TOHL Plant / Equipment environment
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
- Degree / Diploma Level, LEEA Qualification or similar (desirable)
- NEBOSH Management for Construction Qualification (desirable)
- Experience of managing a geographically dispersed team (desirable)
- Willingness to travel and work away from home occasionally to suit business needs (desirable)
