• Software Engineer focusing on scalable backend systems for an AI assistant that transforms healthcare at Cambio. Join a team dedicated to improving healthcare technology and systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services for a mission-critical healthcare AI product.
• Develop and maintain scalable APIs and services, primarily using Python and modern backend frameworks.
• Design data models and storage solutions that ensure performance, reliability, and long-term scalability.
• Build systems with security, privacy, and compliance as first-class concerns.
• Work with container-based architectures and contribute to CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate closely with AI, DevOps, and product teams to deliver a high-quality, end-to-end solution.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and help shape the backend architecture as the product and platform evolve.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience , with Python as a core language.
• Around 5+ years of professional experience in backend engineering or similar roles.
• Experience designing and scaling backend systems in production environments.
• You are comfortable using modern AI tools as a natural part of your development workflow.
• Solid understanding of security principles in backend and cloud-based systems.
• Experience working with containers (Docker) and modern deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) and data modeling for scale.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to take ownership, communicate technical decisions, and work collaboratively in a team.
• Bonus qualifications: Experience with microservice architectures.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Previous work in healthcare, healthtech, or other regulated environments.
