Technical Lead for React Native in a high-scale mobile engineering organisation. Leading hybrid delivery and collaborating with iOS and Android teams in London.
Responsibilities
Own the technical direction and strategy for React Native and hybrid delivery across iOS and Android platforms.
Define when hybrid approaches are appropriate and where native implementation remains essential.
Lead feasibility assessments and proof-of-concepts to validate performance, stability, security, and developer experience.
Design and govern integration patterns between React Native and existing Swift and Kotlin codebases.
Establish standards for dependency management, packaging, versioning, and native module bridging.
Collaborate closely with iOS and Android Technical Architects to align on cross-platform architectural decisions.
Support experimentation with WebView-based and configuration-driven mobile experiences.
Identify and resolve architectural constraints that impact release velocity, maintainability, or reliability.
Provide technical leadership across multiple teams adopting hybrid approaches.
Mentor engineers and uplift hybrid engineering capability across the organisation.
Requirements
Strong, hands-on experience delivering production React Native applications at scale.
Excellent knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript and modern React architecture.
Working knowledge of Swift and Kotlin, sufficient to design, review, and guide native integrations.
Proven experience embedding React Native within large, existing native mobile applications.
Deep understanding of mobile performance, lifecycle management, and platform constraints.
Experience operating within complex, multi-team mobile environments.
Bonus Points: Experience scaling hybrid delivery across large engineering organisations.
Deep familiarity with native module bridging on both iOS and Android.
Experience designing governance models for shared hybrid components.
Experience with WebView-based mobile architectures.
