Responsibilities
Develop and deliver technology solutions addressing bp’s priority drilling and wells challenges
Serve as a technical contributor across drilling and well construction, supporting solution design, qualification, and field deployment
Lead end‑to‑end technology and engineering projects, working with suppliers and partners to accelerate development and trial programs
Engage partners across Wells, Subsurface, Operations, and central technology teams to ensure alignment and adoption
Apply sound engineering judgment to prioritise work and manage technical trade‑offs
Deliver work with pace, rigour, and clarity, upholding high standards of safety, quality, and technical assurance
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (petroleum, mechanical, chemical, or related discipline)
Strong drilling engineering background, including well planning and execution
Proven ability to manage complex technical projects in fast‑paced or ambiguous environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical topics clearly
Demonstrated critical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and focus on business value
Collaborative mindset and experience working across teams and disciplines
Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and advanced well control
Downhole tools and BHA design (RSS, motors, MWD/LWD, specialty tools)
Drilling performance optimisation and NPT reduction
Well construction engineering (casing design, hydraulics, torque & drag, cementing)
Real‑time operations, surveillance, and data‑driven decision‑making
Experience across onshore/offshore environments including deepwater, shelf, HPHT, unconventional, or remote operations
