About the role
- Embedded Systems Engineer developing firmware and integrating software for smart locker solutions at Bloq.it. Focusing on firmware development, debugging system-level issues, and producing technical documentation in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain firmware for various hardware components
- Debug system-level issues across multiple stack layers from kernel to application and drive firmware/software code optimizations
- Understand software components from multiple partner teams, lead the integration of those components into an unified product code base
- Develop and maintain Yocto Project-based Linux distributions (e.g., Torizon OS)
- Customize existing Yocto layers, implement drivers and system configurations
- Design and implement firmware unit testing and configure CI pipelines
- Participate in design reviews, providing feedback and suggesting improvements to enhance hardware system performance and reliability
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Software Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in Embedded Software and Systems development
- Proficient in Python and C/C++ at application level
- Solid understanding of real-time embedded systems and OS (e.g., Embedded Linux, Yocto-based OS)
- Experience in distributed systems, microservices architectures and Docker
- Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask or similar for REST API development
- Experience with Firmware unit testing
- Familiar with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
