About the role
- IT System Administrator responsible for monitoring and backup in Hanau, Germany. Optimizing IT infrastructure and ensuring system reliability for municipal services.
Responsibilities
- Build, operate and continuously develop a centralized monitoring and alerting infrastructure
- Monitor all IT systems, analyze alerts and respond promptly to incidents and outages
- Conduct incident, problem and root-cause analyses, including escalation management
- Operate, administer and optimize the Commvault backup and recovery environment
- Plan and execute disaster recovery measures and tests
- Ensure data security and compliance; support audits (e.g., ISO/BSI)
- Maintain the systems landscape (patching, upgrades, capacity planning)
- Create technical documentation and report to management and internal audit
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) or IT systems electronics technician, or a degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics
- Several years of professional experience in an IT environment
- Solid knowledge of backup and restore procedures and enterprise monitoring
- Experience operating Windows and Linux server systems
- Good networking knowledge at the port and protocol level
- Strong technical understanding and excellent communication skills
- Excellent German language skills, spoken and written (at least C1 level), and good English
- Valid driving license (Class B)
