Senior Plant Engineer managing submarine docks and nuclear facilities for Babcock. Overseeing complex engineering operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations during maintenance and operations.
Responsibilities
Manage submarine docks, nuclear fuel handling and radioactive waste facilities
Implement nuclear safety case requirements to operate docks and associated facilities
Enable safe delivery of work packages, ensuring controls are in place for nuclear safety evolutions
Oversee control of work, site operations, and plant maintenance
Support projects in design and installation of new engineering and infrastructure
Liaise with operational teams, conduct health and safety walkdowns, and resolve facility defects
Requirements
Experience managing work in high-hazard or regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, chemical, oil & gas, rail, or aerospace)
Skilled in implementing risk assessments or safety cases
Strong team and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to oversee complex engineering operations
Level 5 qualification essential or equivalent higher-level learning with substantial experience
Level 6 STEM degree preferred
Must be a sole UK national able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) / Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance.
