About the role

Network Solution Architect with Babcock supporting Defence High Frequency Communications System. Ensuring robust ICT network and server infrastructure delivery while engaging with Defence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As a Network Solution Architect with Babcock, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing assurance and enhancement of the Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS).
Working within the Recurring Services (Support) Engineering team, you will ensure the delivery of a robust and secure ICT network and server infrastructure that underpins critical Defence communications.
This role spans L1–L3 support services across a multidisciplinary network environment, with a strong focus on network maintenance, server infrastructure management, and performance reporting.
This role also provides the opportunity to engage directly with Defence stakeholders, define system requirements, and influence the ongoing technical evolution of one of Australia’s most critical communications networks.

Demonstrated experience in design and deployment of network and ICT solutions, including complex switching and routing environments.
Desirable experience with support of terrestrial defence mission system computing systems.
Understanding of Microsoft / Linux Server architecture design principles.
Proven experience designing and troubleshooting IP networks.
Proven experience working in both Windows and LINUX environments.
Hands-on experience working with Cisco networking products.
An understanding of VoIP technologies.
Familiarity with virtualisation platforms.
