About the role
- Hardware Engineer playing a key role in Defence communication system engineering services. Delivering hardware design, specifications, and documentation to support critical defence capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engineering services across the design, delivery, acceptance and sustainment of the JP9101 Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS)
- Ownership of hardware-based design activities, producing equipment specifications, assemblies, installation instructions, cable diagrams and associated Product Baseline documentation
- Apply sound engineering principles to develop calculations, technical solutions and design improvements
- Conduct technical investigations and risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and procedures
- Contribute to secure configuration and data management
Requirements
- Approximately 2 years relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles
- Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering or hold the recognised engineering qualifications
- An understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software)
- Experience in creating Product Baseline documentation including detailed product design artifacts and drawings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
