Responsibilities
- Own and direct a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Successfully manage time and budgets of the Electrical & ICA team.
- Responsible for directing and reviewing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
- Provide technical leadership into project design deliverables for ICA aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
- Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities.
- Provide direction and guidance to Senior and Principal colleagues.
- Lead the growth of local Electrical & ICA team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
- Work independently with minimal technical guidance.
- Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems.
- Provide technical support and direction for bid proposals.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas.
Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer.
- Proven experience in leading or directing an Electrical & ICA engineering design delivery team
- Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in ICA designs.
- Extensive knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES.
- Strong awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
- Experience in water market is preferred but not required.
- Experience in industrial and process environment is essential.
- Demonstrates strong communication skills.
