  • Employment Specialist at The Arc of Ocean County supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving employment goals. Mix of coaching, community outreach, and independent work in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

  • **What You’ll Do**
  • **Employment Support & Skill Development**
  • Create individualized employment plans that reflect each person’s strengths, preferences, goals, and potential challenges
  • Lead intake sessions and participate in interdisciplinary or service planning meetings
  • Provide one-on-one guidance in resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness skills
  • Deliver job coaching, pre-employment services, and ongoing support to help individuals maintain employment
  • Reinforce understanding of workplace expectations, including scheduling, policies, and employer standards
  • **Community Engagement & Employer Relations**
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and hiring partners
  • Expand community connections to create new employment opportunities
  • Advocate for individuals in workplace settings to support long-term success
  • Assist with transitions as employment goals or placements change
  • **Documentation & Program Oversight**
  • Complete and maintain documentation in compliance with applicable standards, including DVRS, DDD, CARF, DCF, DOE, and DOL
  • Provide regular updates on caseload activity to supervisors and referral sources
  • Ensure all client records and reporting systems are accurate and up to date
  • Develop and manage weekly schedules to meet required service and billing expectations
  • **Technology & Work Approach**
  • Use a variety of platforms to deliver services across in-person, remote, and hybrid settings
  • Support individuals in accessing and using technology when needed
  • Work independently in the field while maintaining consistent communication with leadership

Requirements

  • **What We’re Looking For**
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related discipline required
  • Must be at least 20 years of age
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing (no more than 5 points)
  • At least two years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year working as a job coach (required)
  • Prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Demonstrated strengths in communication, problem-solving, and building professional relationships
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage a flexible schedule
  • Completion of all required pre-service trainings through DVRS and DDD
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks and registry clearances
