About the role
- Accountant managing accounting tasks and financial reporting for an insurance company. Engaging with various departments to ensure fiscal accuracy and compliance in dynamics organizational settings.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for financial close activity, including but not limited to: Prepare various business unit financial statements and supporting exhibit
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Process manual entries to sub-ledger and general ledger: Calculate reinsurance transactions according to contracts
- Prepare Reinsurance Statements monthly
- Process all Reinsurance related cash activity and update applicable sub-ledgers
- Assist with financial audits
- Participate in special projects and financial analysis as assigned by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1+ years of financial analysis and accounting experience, excluding internship experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or a public organization
- Highly proficient with Excel, including strong knowledge of vlookups, pivot tables, formulas, and data management, MS Word, Outlook
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials or other cloud ERP systems
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Power BI)
