About the role
- Lead Network Engineer at AMERICAN SYSTEMS ensuring secure, reliable network operations for U.S. Government customers. Involves hands-on leadership in network design and troubleshooting in classified environments.
Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to protect data and control access to classified networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Diagnose and resolve Layer 2/Layer 3, VPN, and VMware network issues.
- Coordinate on-site and remotely with users to configure equipment and troubleshoot connectivity.
- Recommend performance and security enhancements that improve reliability and reduce costs.
- Interface with senior management and vendor technical teams on network solutions.
- Work independently or lead small technical efforts with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship (required)
- Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree (or 6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- 8–10 years of professional networking experience
- Expertise in Cisco ISE configuration and troubleshooting, routing/switching, and firewall administration
- Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols and network design principles
- Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly preferred
