About the role
- Principal or Senior Land Quality Consultant leading technical projects in contaminated land management with Amentum in UK locations. Focusing on compliance, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff within a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical lead on contaminated land projects
- contribute to project management, client liaison, and mentoring of junior colleagues
- ensure projects meet the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- plan and deliver projects on time and within budget
- build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders
- ensure all works adhere to UK environmental legislation and best practices for contaminated land management
- support junior staff by offering technical guidance and feedback
- contribute to proposals and bids, identifying opportunities to expand our land quality services and strengthen client relationships
Requirements
- 5+ Years experience in investigation and remediation of contaminated land
- strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) for human health and controlled waters
- familiarity with relevant UK legislation, including Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act
- experience applying the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste Code of Practice (DoWCoP)
- proven record of successfully delivering medium-sized projects
- Degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering or related subject (MSc or higher desired)
- progress towards (or attainment of) a relevant chartership (e.g., CGeol, CEnv) and/or Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC) accreditation is advantageous
- strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence
- willingness to travel to project sites across the UK and hold a valid UK driving licence.
